Privacy policy
Last updated July 2026. Plain-language summary of what we collect and why.
The short version
You can browse SaskTaxSales without an account. We collect only what we need to run the service: a bit of usage data to keep the site fast and honest, an email if you ask for alerts, and an account if you choose to create one. We use first-party analytics, run no third-party advertising trackers, and never sell your data.
What we collect
- Account details. If you create an account or sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) stores your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name. If you set a password, it is stored hashed by Supabase, never by us in plain text.
- Saved listings and alert preferences. When signed in, the listings you save and the regions or buyer types you follow are stored against your account so they sync across your devices.
- Alert email. If you sign up for new-listing alerts without an account, we store the email address and any region you entered, plus a one-click unsubscribe token.
- Payments. Optional membership and per-listing reports are billed through Stripe. Stripe handles your card details; we never see or store them. We keep your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference so we can grant access and let you manage billing.
- Usage data. We record basic, first-party page events (which pages load, rough referrer, approximate region and device type) to measure what is useful and to detect abuse. Your visitor identifier is salted and rotated daily, so it cannot be used to track you over time.
- Technical data. Like any website, our servers and content-delivery layer log IP addresses and request details briefly, for security, rate-limiting, and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To provide the service: show listings, save your shortlist, send the alerts you asked for, and unlock membership features you pay for.
- To keep the site working and fair: measure performance, prevent scraping and abuse, and fix problems.
- To communicate with you about your account, alerts, or a purchase.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies strictly to keep you signed in (session cookies for member and operator access). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why you will not see a cookie-consent banner.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that make the product work, and only as needed for them to perform their function:
- Supabase for account sign-in and authentication.
- Google if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in.
- Stripe for payment processing.
- Resend to deliver account and alert emails.
- Our hosting and content-delivery providers to serve the site.
We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not otherwise share your personal information with anyone.
When you create an account we include you in our new-listing alert emails, the same digests people receive from the alert form. Every one carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can stop them at any time without affecting the rest of your account. Other account and purchase emails are transactional.
Your choices and data deletion
You can unsubscribe from alerts from any alert email, and manage or cancel membership from the billing portal. To access, correct, or delete your account and associated data, email us at support@sasktaxsales.ca and we will action the request.
A note on property data
The tax-sale and municipal-land listings on this site are compiled from public government and municipal records. That property information is public record, not personal information we hold about you as a site user. How that dataset may be used is covered in our terms.
Security and retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal and accounting obligations, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No online service can promise perfect security, but we limit what we collect and who can see it.
Children
SaskTaxSales is a tool for property research and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change when we do. Questions about privacy? Email support@sasktaxsales.ca.
