How to buy
Town-owned residential lot at a set price, GST extra; Indian Head Community Development Office, (306) 695-2742. The purchaser signs an agreement setting a construction timeline and building requirements: construction must be APPROVED AND STARTED within 52 WEEKS of signing, and built to 25% of taxable assessment -- floor joists and subfloor -- within 18 MONTHS. An extension needs a formal request to Council and is meant for an unforeseen delay, not a planned one. Before building the purchaser needs a development permit with a site plan, a building permit with the Town written approval of size and site plan, two sets of blueprints and a list of contractors and subcontractors. Ready-to-move homes are allowed provided the width is about the same as the length, so it does not resemble a mobile home or trailer; there are no finishings or landscaping requirements provided the build fits the surrounding homes. IF THE PURCHASER WALKS AWAY they must return the property to the Town for the purchase price LESS 10% and GST
